I designed an AI-powered task automation workflow that turns forwarded emails into structured Asana tasks without requiring senior team members to manually create or assign work.
A centralized Gmail inbox receives forwarded emails containing the assignee's name. n8n extracts the email subject and content, then sends the unstructured information to Google Gemini to identify the action item and generate structured task details.
The AI output is normalized into the required fields, and conditional routing determines the intended team member before automatically creating the task in Asana. Google Sheets was used during development and testing to inspect incoming data and validate the transformed output.

Forward Email → Extract Content → Gemini AI Processing → Generate Task Details → Identify Assignee → Route Task → Create in Asana
This removes repetitive task entry and demonstrates how AI interpretation can be combined with deterministic workflow automation to turn everyday business communication into actionable work.
